Not only is GS-Solar’s average solar module manufacturing cost per watt significantly less than what is currently achieved using the crystalline silicon technology, it’s also substantially lower than other thin film solar module manufacturers using alternative technologies. We are able to achieve such low production costs because our patented thin film technology uses significantly less high-cost semiconductor material than other competing solar module technologies. Furthermore, our efficient and scalable production process is based on proprietary designed and manufactured process equipment which requires capital expenditures that are just a fraction of our competitors, thereby resulting in. We also cost advantages labor and other direct manufacturing costs as a result of our location in China.

Our goal is to make our production cost competitive so that w will be able to provide grid parity electricity on an unsubsidized basis.
